Roger Rogers
Guitar & Vocals
Live music was always there as Roger
was growing up.  His Mom played fiddle
and piano, his Aunt Billy was a talented
played guitar. It was when his older
brother Jim got his guitar, and let Roger
try it, that the love affair began.  He'd play
Elvis Presley records just to hear Scotty
Moore's guitar. Finally, Roger got his own
guitar at age twelve.
In San Diego, Roger formed a band
playing original material. They played the
Palace, the biggest club in the area for
original music. The members of Iron
Butterfly would come in and listen when
they were in town.
Rogers hooked up with Dan Davison,
creating an original band called "The
Kinetics." The Kinetics soon became the
house band at the Central Saloon, and
one of the premier Northwest bands of the
seventies. The Kinetics made two albums,
"Snake Dance" and "Crazy "Bout You,"
opened for Oingo Boingo twice at the
Paramount, traveled extensively around
the western half of the U.S., and got lots
of great reviews and airplay. Rogers*
song, "Cool Water" was even a hit in Italy.
In 1993, Roger formed "The Roger Rogers
Band," deciding to use the real name
given him by his parents.  Rogers started
playing all the local Blues venues. He cut
his first CD, "Some People Got It" in 1994,
another CD in 1995 called, "Good Times,"
and followed that up in "98 with, "The
Roger Rogers Band."
The Roger Rogers Band plays every
Sunday at Larry*s Greenfront in Pioneer
Square and every Blues club from
Bellingham to Olympia. Roger is currently
working on his fourth CD. He is also
musical director for the "Seattle Women in
Rhythm and Blues" band with Kate Hart.
